Connect me 03:37
I really want to feel that I'm a part of everything But there is such a distance; I don't know how to get in Oh, I need a connection 'cause I have a lot to bring I really want to feel that I'm a part of everything, but I don't know how I don't want to be frightened of the people anymore I want to look them in the eye and not feel insecure I want to stop believing that they think I am a bore I don't want to be frightened of the people anymore, but I don't know how I just want to really really feel I just want to live for real I just want to be in control I want to be part of the whole, but I don't know how Connect me to the world (5x) Connect me I want to show the people my new plan for who I am But I don't have a network and I need some helping hands And I don't want to have to start from zero once again I want to show the people my new plan for who I am, but I don't know how Connect me to the world (5x) Connect me I don't know how Connect me to the world (10x) Connect me

All the leaves are turning brown They're all falling from the trees And lying on the ground And the birds, they make no sound They just stand there on the grass Their heads bowed, they have no song And spring will come As you promised But not yet My grieving's still not done Far as I'm concerned Time can stand still So I can repeat you're still the only one And you always will be the one And you always will be the one Yes I know it's been months now And my friends are telling me I really should go out Yes I promised to move on And we talked of how I'd be Once you'd gone I'd carry on And spring will come As you promised But not yet My grieving's still not done Far as I'm concerned Time can stand still So I can repeat you're still the only one And you always will be the one And you always will be the one I promised to remember That spring will come

Show me how you're able to manage a smile While all aroud you, they're all crying Can it be that lying deep down inside There's a part of you you're denying Show me how you're able to smile Look through your eyes and I'd run a mile You make me feel just like a child Show me how you're able to smile Is it a mixture of courage and guile How can you still laugh and smile Show me how you manage to cope with it all And you can do it without falling Show me how you keep your eye on the ball Like it's your own special calling You know that's why we look up to you Why we admire the things you do No, you're never less than true Show me how you're able to grin Show me how you keep it all in It's such an amazing thing I see the eyes of the others When they stand and they look at you I see the smiles on their faces And I know what you said was true How you would make it through

Have we evolved at all as humans Have we evolved at all as men Have we evolved at all as humans Or do we have to start again Why do we have the same old problems Why don't the answers seem to work Have we evolved, have we evolved Have we evolved like this We won't be told, we won't be told We shake our heads, our fists Maybe our chance is gone Why can't we find another refuge Somewhere brand new to place our trust Or is the brave new world too precious To leave our robots out to rust Would we be happier bionic If we gave up our flesh and blood Have we evolved, have we evolved Have we evolved like this We won't be told, we won't be told We shake our heads, our fists Maybe our chance is gone Have we run out of new ideas Are all the barrels really scraped Are we the sum of all our fears Emotions we can't separate What if we wiped the slate completely Is there a chance we'd start again Have we evolved, have we evolved Have we evolved like this We won't be told, we won't be told We shake our heads, our fists Maybe our chance is gone

Downloaded 04:13
In my mp3 are the tunes I need All through the day the music plays No don't talk to me, I won't answer you Just listen on to another song Spending all my nights downloading tunes Which every single day I play Rhythm, reverb, basslines too Downloading is what I do I am downloaded No I never talk while I walk I nod my head to the girls instead And the people stare, I don't care What they think, I don't even blink Spending all my nights downloading tunes Which every single day I play Rhythm, reverb, basslines too Downloading is what I do I am downloaded Spending all my nights downloading tunes

Looking up wondering why Why no answers in the sky If there was one thing I could ask It would be: "show me where to start" I'm down here walking in a maze high walls rise to meet my gaze I've lost my bearings, lost my mind Go take my eyes; I'd be less blind My head is spinning round I hit the ground Then the whole world turns upside down O, no It doesn't seem fair Cause all I can see above me Are questions in the air No It doesn't seem fair Cause all I can see above me Are questions in the air Slowly struggling to my feet I feel so helpless, feel so weak A newborn baby in a man Someone please help me understand I've now forgotten everything Did I commit an awful sin? Is this a court or something worse Cause if it is, my head will burst No answers close to hand In this strange land My mind lets go its final strand O, no It doesn't seem fair Cause all I can see above me Are questions in the air No It doesn't seem fair Cause all I can see above me Are questions in the air

Too late 04:31
They could have been together for a while Now all he's left with is the memory of her smile it's too late too late it's too late now He knows he shouldn't have acted like a child He's always been the one who's too easily riled it's too late too late it's too late now But he just kept pushing on and on and on And never thought a time would come when she was gone it's too late too late it's too late now And now the truth has hit him in the eye Without her with him he knows he's gonna die it's too late too late it's too late now So all is lost like it never was before One time too many he walked out and slammed the door it's too late too late it's too late now They could have been together for a while

Another day, another year So many have passed, but you're still here Look aroud, be amazed Do your thing, it's ok Indulge yourself, go with the flow Let high expectations go Free yourself, make a start Do it now, life isn't hard

Don't worry no, don't worry that my eyes seem dim Don't worry that they're slightly pink around the rim I know it's unnerving that my vision's unswerving But I'm wearing only one of my faces The one I wear when I'm in two places My body is here but I'm stood over there That's why my features stare And they don't seem to care 'Cause I'm stood over there Stood over there Don't worry, sometimes I'm still talking Don't worry that sometimes I'm still walking I know your brain's addling 'Cause I seem to be straddling In a way you'll never understand Impossible ? Yes, but on the other hand... My body is here but I'm stood over there That's why my features stare And they don't seem to care 'Cause I'm stood over there Stood over there Don't worry 'Bout this strange demeanour Radiating Emanating Often puzzling Sometimes grating My mind's busy scanning, panning Under the surface, behind their eyes Sifting memories, truth and lies Lifting the lid on self-delusions Illuminating dark confusions Reinforcing their mental supports Tip-toeing around innermost thoughts Don't hurry, no don't hurry, I'm concentrating Don't hurry I need to see what I'm creating I have to be so calm otherwise I might cause harm Standing in such close proximity Builds up a charge of true affinity

Try a lullaby (free) 02:39
Try a lullaby a lullaby a lullaby Try a lullaby a lullaby a lullaby You find yourself alone and you're so far away from home Try a lullaby a lullaby and don't you cry Try a lullaby a lullaby a lullaby Try a lullaby a lullaby a lullaby I know that there'll be times a friendly face is hard to find Try a lullaby a lullaby a lullaby Then you'll find the strength remember us....and what we meant Try a lullaby a lullaby and don't you cry

REVIEW PLAYMELOUD.COM: If there's one album that proves that homestudios can produce "real music" then it's "CONNECT ME" from Alan Lauris. Anno 2006 many homestudios have evolved into modern production walhallas that can compete with commercial studios. The big difference is that the owner of a homestudio doesn't have to make a living from it and can be totally dedicated to producing their own music. This is a position that many top artists can only dream of: working for maybe years in a professional studio without someone else hovrering over you, craning over your shoulder, looking at their watch and grimacing at their wallet. And so in March 2006 we are suddenly confronted with the debut album "CONNECT ME" from Alan Lauris of Utrecht in the Netherlands; a production that took so much time, so many production techniques and such dedication that the listener will astonishingly ask themself why they have never heard of this man before. One of the striking things are the references to the Pet Shop Boys, in the music, as well as in the voice of Alan Lauris (CONNECT ME, DUTCH CITIES, DOWNLOADED). These Pop songs alternate very strong singer-songwriter material; HOW YOU'RE ABLE TO SMILE comes closer to Burt Bacharach's classic RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD. When we listen to STOOD OVER THERE or QUESTIONS IN THE AIR, comparisons with Gilbert O'Sullivan and Randy Newman come to mind. The modest SPRING WILL COME won Alan Lauris and lyricist John Coughlan an Honor Award in the popular 2004 Great American Song Contest. He uses the most modern techniques for his arrangements and compositions, but doesn't let it rule the music for a second. Loops and sequences are very carefully constructed; man over machine in the best tradition begun by Kraftwerk and continued in the tracks (WE WON'T BE TOLD, NEW PERSPECTIVES).

Platomania
